Wide-area underwater security and defence
SeaWay Dome combines persistent seabed monitoring with regular autonomous patrols to support the protection of subsea cables, pipelines, ports and territorial waters.
OIS supplies subsea wireless devices that incorporate magnetic communications. These seabed devices also act as fixed beacons, allowing passing autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to correct their navigation and stay on mission.
Installed devices monitor local conditions and store information for recovery as an AUV passes. The vehicle can inspect the surrounding infrastructure during the same patrol, combining persistent monitoring with regular inspection.
Infrastructure operators can use the system for asset integrity, environmental monitoring and security patrols. Defence customers can apply the same approach to ports, naval approaches and strategic corridors.
By reducing the cost, complexity and risk of regular patrols, SeaWay Dome is designed to make sustained underwater surveillance more practical.

Sensor payloads
Sensor selection follows the deployment requirements. Options include movement, vibration, fatigue, corrosion protection, temperature, pressure, conductivity, passive acoustic sensing and water-current monitoring.
Seabed devices provide local measurements. Sensors carried by the AUV provide inspection information along the patrol route.
Applications
Subsea power and data cables, pipelines, interconnectors, offshore energy infrastructure, cable landing zones, ports and harbour approaches.
Defence applications include surveillance of naval approaches, strategic seabed corridors and defined areas within territorial waters.
