Lattice E-Field

More insight from every ROV inspection.

Non-contact cathodic protection surveying for operators and ROV service providers.

Lattice E-Field adds electric-field measurements to your subsea inspections. Identify anode signatures, investigate changes in cathodic protection current flow and target follow-up contact measurements.

Compact, neutrally buoyant and low power, it suits small inspection ROVs as well as work-class vehicles.

Improve corrosion management. Expand your inspection services.

For subsea operators

Build a clearer understanding of cathodic protection performance between inspection campaigns. Repeat surveys under comparable conditions help identify changes, prioritise closer investigation and support decisions on corrosion management.

For ROV service providers

Add electric-field surveying to your inspection offering. Equip your existing fleet to collect additional information during planned inspections and offer customers repeat surveys alongside visual inspection and contact CP measurements.

Deployed offshore in the UK and Norway

Lattice E-Field was launched following offshore ROV trials in the UK and Norway. TotalEnergies funded development through the ASEC joint industry project and supported the first deployment.

During the September 2026 pipeline inspection campaign, Lattice E-Field recorded more than 43 hours of electric-field data. The deployment demonstrated practical work-class ROV integration and sustained recording, with repeated signatures consistent with anode passes.

Choose the configuration for your vehicle

Live measurements

Use vehicle power and Ethernet through the ROV interface or multiplexer to bring measurements into the inspection system.

Self-contained logging

Collect time-stamped data using the battery-powered logger, with BLE configuration and download. The datasheet specifies a 1,000-hour battery life.

Single-axis or multi-axis measurement

Each device measures one electric-field component. Two orthogonal devices measure two components; three orthogonal devices provide a full 3D vector.

OIS can review your mounting arrangement, operating depth, power, communications and survey requirements before quotation.
