Lattice MARS

Real-time subsea integrity and flow assurance.

The problem

Moorings, risers, pipelines, umbilicals and dynamic cables operate in coupled metocean, structural and flow conditions. Periodic inspection can confirm condition at a point in time, but it does not provide a continuous record of movement, vibration, fatigue drivers or flow-assurance behaviour under real operating conditions.

The MARS solution

Lattice MARS installs Lattice devices on or near SURF assets to measure structural response and flow behaviour. Edge processing classifies events locally. Hybrid magnetic-acoustic communications transfer event-driven information to a Lattice Gateway and connected customer systems without wet-mate connectors, dunkers or permanent umbilicals.

Where it fits

MARS is the industrial integrity and flow-assurance page. It should be kept separate from SeaWay Dome. The page should speak to offshore operators, integrity engineers and subsea engineering teams who need measured evidence rather than inferred behaviour.

Customer outputs

  • Integrity records for fatigue and movement history.
  • Event records and trend information.
  • Inspection priorities based on measured behaviour.
  • Inputs for OrcaFlex or other engineering models.
  • Evidence for maintenance planning, production decisions and life-extension assessments.

Applications

  • Mooring integrity and creep monitoring.
  • Riser and umbilical response.
  • Pipeline walking and touchdown-zone movement.
  • Dynamic cable motion and free-span response.
  • Slug flow and flow-assurance diagnostics.
  • Field-wide integrity monitoring where repeated vessel campaigns are costly.
